February STARS Newsletter--Math Facts

Math Facts form the building blocks for higher-level math concepts. Therefore, it is essential that they are practiced and reinforced constantly. Skills such as adding and subtracting larger numbers, telling time, counting money, measurement, long multiplication and division are just a few of the concepts that a child will encounter fairly early in their math career.

January STARS Newsletter--Reading Challenge & Keyboarding

This month we are welcoming the new year with a DOUBLE mission! First, we are kicking off a month-long celebration of reading. Students TK through 6th grade are invited to set
reading goals this month and try and read more than they
ever have before January is over. In addition, students are practicing keyboarding skills in classrooms across campus using Keyboarding Without Tears. Keyboarding is the set of skills needed to operate a keyboard smoothly.

December STARS Newsletter--Writing Conventions

Writing conventions such as spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar help make our writing clear and understandable. This month, STARS work and goal setting will focus on correct spelling, punctuation use, capitalization and grammar in ways that are most appropriate for each grade level.
