Welcome to our 5th week of remote learning. We have an exciting announcement--on Wednesday (April 29th) at noon, we will be hosting our first ever Virtual STARS Rally Watch Party on Google Meet. We know everyone is doing their best in this unusual time, as we want to celebrate, connect and share. Please see the attached letter for more information.
As we near the end of the 6th week of school closures, we understand that many families are grappling with exceptionally difficult circumstances as a result of the COVID-19 crisis and are in need of a range of additional services. Santa Cruz County schools recognize that it is our role to advocate for and support students and families beyond providing learning opportunities.
Dear Boony Doon School Families,
Welcome to our 4th week of remote learning. All of us on the school team miss seeing you and your students on a daily basis. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact us all in different ways, we want to share some resources. We acknowledge the stress and anxiety you and your family may be experiencing.
As the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve, our school districts, County Office of Education, and charter schools remain focused on how we can maintain student academic progress, provide families with essential services, and prepare for the long term challenges the crisis may pose. County
Superintendents are working with stakeholders to develop appropriate protocols in relation to grades, graduation criteria, and planning commencement celebrations. Please see the attached letter for further information.
Welcome to week three of distance learning—we miss seeing you! As we continue to adjust to our new normal, we wanted to provide additional clarity based on some of the feedback and questions from our
first two weeks. We have attached a set of slides to further clarify and support our partnership during the suspension of in-person classroom teaching and learning. Our focus is to provide equitable access
to continuous learning for our students during this in-person school closure.
The health and wellness of all students, families, teachers, and staff is the first and foremost priority of all Santa Cruz County Schools. All county Superintendents with the support of Public Health Officer, Dr. Gail Newel, have collectively decided to extend school closures through the end of the school year. We miss you all. See the attached letter for further information. Please accept a digital hand shake, high five or hug (or all three) as we continue to partner to support our students during this moment in time.
Welcome to week two of distance learning—we miss seeing you! As we continue to adjust to our new normal, we wanted to provide additional clarity based on some of the feedback and questions from our first week. Please see the attached document for more information.
All Santa Cruz County school Superintendents in mutual agreement with Santa Cruz County’s Public Health Officer feel it is appropriate and necessary to extend the period of school closures through May 5th, 2020 to reduce the spread of COVID-19 to the maximum extent possible. The safety, health, and wellbeing of students, school personnel, and the community are the highest priorities of all
schools and districts. Please se the attached document for other important details and information.
